Operation Cast Lead: Three siblings killed when trying to flee shelling

On 3 January 2009, an Israeli shell struck the donkey cart of the al-Err family in Jabalia town while they were preparing to evacuate their home. Israeli bulldozers started demolishing the house with survivors inside; the families managed to flee but soldiers prevented them from evacuating the bodies of their relatives and demolished both houses over the bodies of the dead.

Total number of people killed as a result of the attack:

  • Rakan (4)
  • Ibrahim (10)
  • Feda’ (17)
