Thus, it difficult for DCI to confirm deaths and injuries as well as provide additional background information on these children the same day that events occur.

| Additional Information | Around 07:30 on 14 August 2006, Palestinian combatants launched missiles towards Israel, from a base around 70 metres away from the house of Yussef A'shur in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza. After the launch, the combatants fled the scene, while local children ran to see where the missiles had been launched from. Their parents ran after them urging them to come away from the site. At this moment the Israeli army launched a missile towards this area. Three civilians were killed: Outhman Al Ba', 50 years old; Zuhir al Kaffana, 52 years old; and Ahmad Yussef A'shur, 13 years old. Three civilians were wounded including 2 children: Husam al Ba', 17 years old and Bilal al Kaffana, 14 years old, who received critical injuries.
