In April 2004, following the success of the book Stolen Youth: The Politics of Israel's Detention of Palestinian Children, DCI/PS and Dar Productions produced a 20-minute documentary to shed further light on the experiences of Palestinian child prisoners. The film is entitled Stolen Youth and was directed by Saed Andoni and funded by Save the Children Sweden.
The documentary includes interviews with ex-child detainees, their families and their lawyer as well as exclusive footage from the inside an Israeli military court.
The film highlights the personal pain experienced by the children and their relatives during the period of their incarceration, as well as placing this suffering within the wider context of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories.
The film is now available for sale in DVD format for $13.00 or Eur 10.00.
Copies are available in English, French or Italian.
If you wish to order a copy of the documentary Stolen Youth, please email research@dci-pal.org giving your name, your mailing address and which language version you require. You will then be sent an email explaining how payment can be made. Copies of Stolen Youth can only be sent once DCI/PS has received the payment.
Screenings of the documentary Stolen Youth can be for non-profit purposes only. If you wish to show the film commercially, or broadcast it, whether in full or in part, on television, is necessary to obtain prior explicit written permission from DCI/PS.
